Jan Coffin - Coffin's Corner Pottery, Orwell, PEI

Jan Coffin was a pottery student at Holland College School of Visual Arts in Charlottetown during the 1970s and 1980s when Ron Arvidson was the instructor. Following completion of her training she opened a purpose-built studio in Orwell near the popular tourist attraction Orwell Corner Historic Village. The historic site which retains a collection of buildings at an authentic rural PEI crossroads locally known as "the Corner". The choice of Coffin's Corner as a name, located across from the entrance to Orwell Corner was easy for the public to remember.

During the period that Jan operated the business in Orwell she signed her work with "Jan - Coffin's Corner PEI".
